MIKE WHITBY TRIPLES COMPETITION

RESULT OF THE
Mike Whitby Triples Cup competition - 10 Sep 2024
Thank you all for taking part in the Mike Whitby Competition. I think we all thoroughly enjoyed the game, despite the last two rounds being affected by the wet weather. As always, winning or losing doesn’t matter as much as the enjoyment, friendship, and participation, which are what truly count.
Now, I’m going to announce the results in reverse order:-
In third place is Team B – Victor, Woody, and Chris, who scored 6 points. Team B had a rough start, losing 5 points in the first round but gradually picked up momentum, gaining 10 points in the last round to secure third place.
The runners-up are Team D – Vernon, Stuart, and Lynn, who scored 9 points. Team D had a nil start in the first round but gained momentum and scored 14 points in round 4, including 6 in one end, finishing with an overall score of 24-15.
And the winners are Team C – Jonathan, Andrew, and Maureen, who scored 12 points. They had a great start, earning 10 points in the first round, and continued their pace with several 4’s and 3’s to finish with 22-10.
Team E – Bob, Roger J, and Eileen had a slow start but managed to gain 5 points in one end and another 3 in round 4, but slipped in the final end, finishing with -13.
Team A – Gerrard, Bernard, and Huw started well, scoring 5 points in the first round, but quickly lost momentum. They regained 5 points in the last end, but it was too late, ending with -14.

Now, I’ll invite our president, Vernon, to present the trophy to the winners
.
Before we finish, a couple of quick notes: If you want to remove bulk emails at once, here's a tip: Go to your mailbox, and in the search bar, type "Victor Jeb". All the emails from April onwards will appear on your screen. Then, click edit, highlight the mails, and delete them. Don’t forget to empty the bin—those emails will be gone forever. Repeat the same process in your Sent folder to delete all emails sent to Victor Jeb. Not only will this increase your storage space, but it will also help avoid accidentally sending emails. Please respond once you’ve cleared your inbox, sent folder, and emptied the bin.

A big thank you to Bob for updating the results on the website. Please take a moment to read the match report when you can.
A special thanks to Maureen and Vernon for preparing the tea and organizing the raffle tickets. Before we wrap up, I’d like to share a bit of wisdom from Bruce Lee: "I do not fear the man who practices 10,000 kicks, but I fear the man who practices one kick 10,000 times." Best of luck in the next games, and thank you again for participating!
