If the skips cannot agree on a disputed point they should ask an Umpire to decide. His decision is final.
MARKER'S DUTIES
A marker ensures that the players names are entered on the score card, he makes
sure that he knows which bowls belong to which player.
He centres the jack and ensures that the mat is in the correct place.
On trial ends he indicates the position of the bowl in relation to the jack and then removes it from the head.
If the jack is less than the minimum distance the marker will return the jack to
be redelivered by the other player.
A marker shall stand as far away as possible from the jack and will keep still. while
the bowls are being delivered.
After each end he enters the score when the players have agreed the number of
shots. He will also put the score on the score board.
If the players cannot agree to the nearest bowl he will be requested to measure by
one or both players. If they still do not agree an umpire will be called and he will
decide.
during the game the player in pocession of the rink may ask you questions, you only
answer what you have been asked, you do not add any extra information.
If a decision is in your opinion is very close you should indicate this to the player, it is up to the bowler to decide which shot is nearest.
All touchers to be marked with chalk immediately they come to stop.
At the end of a match both skips should be asked to sign the card.
