The Mayor's match took place at Strawberry Hill on 2nd May having been postponed from last year. It was lovely to see familiar faces and to have a catch up. The rain kept off but it was cold at times - especially sitting watching and not playing! Our Teddington team of Bernard, Roger J and Vernon played valiantly but Strawberry Hill played really won and won very convincingly. The absent cup was won by Strawberry Hill and a good afternoon was had by all. It was amusing to hear the familiar cries of "unlucky", "more green" and "well played". I did not stay for the tea or presentation but Strawberry Hill certainly looked to have put on a good spread in difficult conditions. They could not have tea inside so they put the tables on the green which was a new idea. We certainly wish Strawberry Hill well in their centenary year.
