EDDIE BAXTER CUP COMPETITION 2022
Posted 15-07-2022

Eddie Baxter Cup – Thursday 14th July 2022
The weather was perfect for play – a temperature of about 23 Centigrade with occasional cloud cover and a slight breeze. Given that the forecast temperature for 18th July is an incredible record breaking 40 Centigrade we were fortunate to have chosen the date we did! The match against Cambridge Park on 19th July has been postponed.

Thanks to Brian Caswell, six pairs were able to take part in this seeded pairs four wood competition. Each pair played 3 ends against each of the other 5 pairs making a total of 15 ends.

Three of the six pairs finished on an overall positive score. In 3rd place were Brian C and Victor (+1), runners up were Stuart and Jonathan (+2) and comfortable winners with +11 were Maureen and Vernon. Maureen and Vernon won both matches against these two other pairs so thoroughly deserved their decisive win – congratulations to them!

We finished with a splendid cream tea supplied by Maureen (my first cream tea of the year!) and a raffle, first prize in which was won by Bob.
